The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead Overview

The Walking Dead is an American horror television based on a comic book created by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard. The series is set in a post-apocalyptic time where zombies, commonly referred to as “walkers,” are taking out human civilization. This nerve-wracking thriller brings out the different struggles of a group of survivors as they are constantly on the move in search of safety and security from the walkers. Aside from the constant pressure to stay alive, the survivors are faced with the added pressures of forming a new society, rules, and leadership. This new community amidst zombies also experiences struggles against other human communities. The mounting pressures and anxieties of living in constant fear for their lives send many of the survivors over the edge where they are willing to do anything to stay alive or gain leader of the pack status. Even in the midst of living among the walking dead, man proves that they can still be the greatest threat to their own survival. Season one premiered on October 10, 2010, and season eleven is scheduled to premiere during the summer of 2021.
