Shark Tank Overview
Shark Tank is an American Reality TV series that features a variety of different inventors and entrepreneurs that hope to have their pitch gain favor and ultimately funding from one of the Sharks. The Shark Tank is made up of a panel of self-made multi-millionaires and billionaires that are looking for their next opportunity to invest in products and businesses. These tough businessmen and women are known for their no holds barred critiques of the pitches and products. The Sharks are billionaire Mark Cuban, owner of AXS TV and the Dallas Mavericks; Barbara Corcoran, a mogul in real estate; Lori Greiner, a TV personality and entrepreneur, well known for being on QVC; Robert Herjavec, founder of BRAK systems; Daymond John, founder of FUBU; and Kevin O'Leary a venture capitalist and author. This show is a household favorite because it is giving everyone the opportunity to chase the American Dream regardless of their economic background. In its first four years, Shark Tank was awarded a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Structured Reality Program each year, from 2014–2017.
