Game of Thrones Overview

Game of Thrones is an American fantasy drama series that is based on the writings by George R. R. Martin. The series is set in the medieval kingdom of Westeros and follows several plot lines, some of which include magic and dragons. As some of the noble families fight to gain the power of the Iron Throne and the seven kingdoms, others are fighting to gain their independence. While the kingdoms are consumed by their own internal conflict, external dangers are looming that could destroy them all. With the threat of the desolate winter season that is on the brink, as well as the dangerous enemies from the North, it will be interesting to see how Westeros most noble dynasties will prevail. Game of Thrones first premiered on HBO in April 2011 and ran for eight seasons.
