Derry Girls Overview
Derry Girls is a popular sitcom produced by the BBC in the UK. Developed by playwright Lisa McGee, the story follows a group of Catholic schoolgirls in Northern Ireland during the sectarian conflict known as The Troubles. The comings and goings of Erin (Saoirse-Monica Jackson), Orla (Louisa Harland), Clare (Nicola Coughlan), and Michelle (Jamie-Lee O'Donnell) will echo with those who grew up during the 1990s. Episodes are 22 minutes long, which provides endearing and entertaining snack-sized bites of wit. Two seasons have been released since 2018, and a third one is on the books but postponed due to the pandemic.
